Lab grown diamonds are created and grown in a controlled lab, mimicking the high temperature and pressure where naturally occurring diamonds are found, in the Earth’s surface. Lab grown diamonds are chemically, physically, structurally, and optically identical to natural, earth minded diamonds. Lab grown diamonds are just as real as natural mined diamonds. Like natural diamonds, Lab grown diamonds have different shapes, sizes, color and clarity grades.

The differences between lab grown and naturally mined diamonds cannot be determined with the naked eye. Natural mined diamonds have tiny traces of nitrogen dispersed throughout, whereas lab grown diamonds contain no nitrogen. The missing nitrogen is the single signifier gemologist use to identify whether a diamond is grown in a lab or naturally minded.

Natural diamonds are created under the Earth’s surfaces over million of years. Lab grown diamonds are created under the same controlled conditions within a couple months.
